Macrolocation:

The municipality of Radeče is located in the northeastern part of the Posavina Hills. It is bordered by the Sava River and the Limestone-Dolomite "Lower Triglav" - Kum (1220 m) and Lisca (948 m). The original settlement, the square and later the town were created at the confluence of the Sopot river with Sava. When the latter twists out of the tight embrace of the Zasava gorges, it calms down near Radeče and cuts its channel into the heart of Posavija. Already in the Middle Ages, the border between Styria and Carniola was established on the Sava River, which is still valid today. Today's Municipality of Radeče is one of the smaller municipalities. It has four local communities and 23 settlements. The village of Radeče, the center of Radeče municipality, lies at the mouth of the Sopot stream into the Sava river; between Zidani most and Sevnica. It developed at the junction of road, (water) and railway transport routes that connect the Dolenjska, Celjska kotlina, Spodnje Posavje and Posavska hribovje.
