The majority of the sites are set on the banks of the stunning, seasonal Sandspruit river, a beautiful dry riverbed, with large trees which meanders through Khaya Ndlovu. The houses are located privately, with the rest of the reserve being conserved as wilderness areas.

During the summer months seasonal pans fill with water which become popular watering holes for animals and birds alike. A new bird hide has been built and offers views onto a mud pan. Khaya Ndlovu owners also has access via a booking system to the Bloubank traverse area, which is 3,118Ha in size.
