On the left bank of the River Tinhela, in Candedo, municipality of Murça, and within the Vale do Tua Natural Park and the Alto Douro Wine Region, we find Caldas de Carlão. Inserted in a 7,4 hectares property, besides the Thermal Spa (with reception, medical office, wet thermal zone, dry thermal zone, physiotherapy office, massage room, changing rooms and resting room) we find in the property a restaurant properly equipped and a two floor building, in the upper floor, seven rooms for guests and, in the ground floor three rooms, a kitchen and a dining room, two garages and a mill. To the buildings mentioned above, there are also a 1,9 hectares DOP vineyard, of which 0,8 hectares have a Port wine production license, and an olive grove with 28 centennial olive trees.The thermal concession (HM21), belonging to the same family since 1986, is fed by a mineral water natural spring and by two recently built artesian boreholes. The water qualified by the Directorate-General of Energy and Geology (DGEG) as Natural Mineral Water is recognised by the Directorate-General of Health (DGS) as water with therapeutic indications for the treatment of skin diseases, respiratory tract diseases and rheumatic and musculoskeletal illnesses. The deep circulation of these waters combined with the existence of a protective perimeter of the water catchments guarantee an impeccable physico-chemical and microbiological quality.In terms of landscape, Caldas de Carlão is located in an idyllic, quiet valley, surrounded by leafy vegetation and where we delight ourselves with the permanent sound of running water.
